At 79° North, Svalbard sits inside the Arctic Circle and is the most northerly permanently occupied settlement in the world. Global Marine Groups’ Route Engineering team surveyed, engineered and installed a fibre optic cable system connecting Longyearbyen to Ny-Ålesund via two 250km long unrepeatered cables in a ring configuration.
